Balearic Islands Beaches

The Balearic Islands are a perfect holiday destination for anyone who enjoys the beach.  On everyone of the four islands you will miles of beautiful coastline with amazing little coves or stretches of pure white sand and crystal clear waters.  With some of the best beaches in Europe.  They are also perfect for water sports with many diving schools, sailing schools, and an abundance of water sport companies, with banana boats, donuts, water skiing, pedaloes, and much more.  There are many deserted quiet beaches that are perfect for simply relaxing.  Click on the below links for specific information on the Balearic islands beaches:

Ibiza Beaches

Ibiza Island is around 40km in length with over 50 beaches stretching 18km.  So there is something for everyone, depending on your mood for the day you could visit a bustling beach with many water sports, or a tranquil setting for a good book and sun worshipping!  The waters in Ibiza are amongst the cleanest in the Mediterranean, many are continuously  awarded EEC Blue Flags.

Menorca Beaches

Menorca (which is also known as Minorca) has around 100 beaches covering 216km of coastline, this is a similar amount as Ibiza and Mallorca and Ibiza combined.  There truly is something for everyone.  There are beaches with caves, or the huge deserted beaches, or beaches with water sports, restaurants, and great people watching.  The waters around Menorca are amongst the cleanest in the Mediterranean.  It is worth knowing that if the wind is blowing from the north visit the southern coastal beaches, and visa versa.

Formentera Beaches

Most of the beaches in Formentera are tolerant of the nudists and many are completely naked, nudist, au naturale beaches, although there are plenty of dressed bathers too.  Formentera is home to some fabulous beaches with white fine sand, shallow crystal clear waters, with very good under water visibility (great for snorkeling and scuba diving).  It is worth knowing that if the wind is blowing from the north visit the southern coastal beaches, and visa versa.  The majority of beaches have beach bars selling tapas, and some with sunbeds/umbrellas, and water sports for hire.

Mallorca Beaches

Mallorca beaches are of a very high standard with fine sand going down to the crystal clear Mediterranean sea. All the main beach areas are blue flag. So whether you choose a beach in one of the large developments, surrounded by hotels and apartments or any of the smaller beaches with pine trees as a back drop, you won't be disappointed. Many of the main beaches have all that you would expect, with water sports, loungers and shades, plus nearby bars selling snacks, drinks and ice creams.
