Barcelona Bars Barcelona is an excellent place to enjoy a drink. It plays host to an almost limitless selection of bars, catering for every taste. Whether you are looking for a cafe-bar in which to rest your feet on a days sightseeing, or for alcholol fueled hedonism at midnight, there is plenty to choose from & a lot in between. One of the best places to head for some evening entertainment is the L'Eixample district, home to the highest concentration of bars in the city. Alternatively you could head for Plaza Reial (royal square), just off the La Rambla boulevard & next to the Liceu Theatre. This beautiful old sqaure is a lively place boasting a good selection of bars & eateries, & a popular meeting point for Barcelona's youth. Otherwise there are bars almost everywhere in central Barcelona, in fact you would be hard pushed to miss them. It is worth knowing that the evening meal in Spain is eaten at around 10pm. This has a knock on effect to the customary time at which locals head out for a drink (especially at weekends), & visitors will find that most bars do not get lively until much later.
