Cala Saona Fiestas There is one massive fiesta in Cala Saona (also known as Cala Sahona) which is the celebration of Saint James Day, most of Formentera celebrates this festival, street party, carnival is on the 25th July annually. It is a massive festivity in Cala Saona and in fact all over Formentera rejoicing St James day. There is much traditional folk dancing and singing, and many people arrive for the big day from Ibiza island. Spanish Fiestas The local people are very welcoming for tourists that want to join in with any fiesta. I would very much recommend going to a Spanish Fiesta in Cala Saona as the locals really know how to party. A typical fiesta is celebrated annually and usually local businesses close, the roads are blocked off, and a street party is set up with food, drink and music in abundance. People of all ages join the party in singing and dancing. Then in the evening the there is usually a fair ground, and often on the last night there will be a fireworks display. Sometimes there is even a bank holiday the day after the fiesta for the town to recover! National Spanish Fiestas:
