The course is best described as undulating heathland offering both challenging golf and an idyllic setting. The clubhouse is situated a mile and a half from the market town of Brampton, on the B6413 Castle Carrock road. Each hole has its own identity with accurate approach shots needed to the small well-kept greens. Don't get the idea that it's an easy course because with the trees and ditches this is a truly enjoyable test for all. The magnificent views make it a most scenic course - and with the Hadrian's Wall Vallum crossing the course, there is also a sense of history. Visitor fees are 9 per day Mon to Fri, and 11 per day weekends and bank holidays. Please telephone for play at weekends. The clubhouse has a licensed bar and at weekends our friendly staff offer a full meals service of good food. Ladies are always welcome. Alston is the highest market town in England and is surrounded by scenic countryside. This area is designated England's last great wilderness.
