Casa de Lis One of the most unique buildings in Salamanca is the Casa de Lis (or House of Lis). Constructed at the very beginning of the 18th century it is often spoken of as being the only modernist building in the city. Indeed it is a striking contrast with that of other city constructs, and from one side is seemingly built almost entirely of ironwork and stained glass. Bizarrely it's entrance (at the rear of the property) has a very different feel, consisting of red and yellow brickwork with mock balconies. Today the Casa de Lis is home to Salamanca's Art Nouveau and Art Deco Museum.
