Casa de Pilatos The Casa de Pilatos i so named as it was said to resemble the home of Pontius Pilates in Jerusalem. Indeed it's construction was ordered by the first Marquis of Tarifa after conducting a tour of the holy lands in the early 16th century. Now owned by the Dukes of Medinaceli the Casa de Pilatos is one of the finest urban palaces in Seville. It's rooms are littered with fine antiques and other collections that span the ages. Other featured collections include that of Baroque and Renaissance paintings hung throughout the building, and finally a large collection of Roman artefacts. Casa de Pilatos is open to the public daily, except when a member of the Spanish royal family is visiting, as they do from time to time. Seville Tourist Office TEL +34 954 592915 FAX +34 954 590919
