Chipiona Tourist Information
Chipiona is a small coastal village situated just outside of Jerez along the Costa de la Luz coastline on the south of Spain by the Atlantic ocean. There are many sights close to Rota; the Donana National Park is the largest nature reserve in Spain is one of many please see Chipiona Sightseeing for details.
There is a daily market in Chipiona from around 10am-2pm, full of atmosphere and bursting with locals it is a great place to pick up souvenirs or food.

Chipiona has many fiestas throughout the year the Carnival being the largest. Annually a few days previous (and on) Shrove Tuesday (February) there is a huge carnival in Chipiona. Celebrated in most towns throughout the Costa de la Luz the Cadiz Carnival is said to be one the largest carnivals in Europe and the third largest in the world following Rio in Brazil, and Trinidad in the West Indies. There are five main beaches in Chipiona three of which are blue flag awarded; the Regla, La Laguna, and the Cruz del Mar all have lifeguards from spring till autumn. The La Ballena and Tres Piedras and often less crowded by more temperate waters and no lifeguards.
Chipiona has typical Mediterranean weather, there are approximately 300 days of sun annually, with an average of 11 hours of sun during the summer. The winters in Chipiona are extremely mild, with an average of 5 hours of sun per day. The max average temperature in August is 28ºC and in December is 14ºC.
