The resort of Ciudadela (also known as Ciutadella) is a large town situated a little in from the coast, on north west Menorca island. With much of Menorca's historical buildings here the city is quite beautiful. Nearly half of Menorca's residents reside here so there is much to do and a good night life. Located at the opposite end of the island to Mahon (the capital) both cities are joined by one road; the 721.
Close to Ciudadela is Cala Santandria beach. It is a blue flag beach with life guards working during high season. Facilities include water sports, sunbeds with umbrellas, and pedaloes. The sand is golden and fine, and the waters are generally calm in this area.
There is allot of sights in Ciudadela; there are two museums, two churches, a sailing club, a scuba diving school, a yoga school, and Horse Harness Racing. The Club de Golf Son Parc golf course is situated at the opposite end of Menorca Island, in the Capital Mahon. Designed by Dave Thomas, close to the sea, and surrounded by pine trees, and peacocks. It is a moderately stunted and even course, trickier on the greens, however the wind can add challenges all over. Please see Ciudadela Golf for more info.
