Costa Brava Camping The Costa Brava is Spain's northern-most Mediterranean coastal region, stretching from the French border to just north of Barcelona. Its name translates as the "rugged coast" & indeed the 200 kilometre long coastline is extremely varied. It boasts a line of clean sandy beaches ideal for tourist use & considered to be among the best in Spain, as well as pockets of rocky coastline. It's countryside is equally praised & includes lush meadowland, dense forest, & steep valleys, all flanked by the outline of the Pyrenees mountain range. It is hard to generalize about an area as large as this, though the towns towards its southern end attract larger crowds & tend to be higher rise, with the more idyllic locales & fishing villages farther north. This diversity lends for an attractive camping holiday destination. In many areas the forest stretches down as far as the beach, giving shade & providing an ideal location for camping enterprises to do business. There are a good selection from which to choose.
