| Costa de la Luz Tourist Information The Spanish coastline Costa de la Luz (translated to English is coastline of light) is situated in south west Spain next to the Costa del Sol. The Costa de la Luz is an amalgamation of two provinces which are also the main two cities; Cadiz and Huelva Province. Overlooking the Atlantic, the Costa de la Luz is a favorite for windsurfing, surfing, and for the average water sports person, the boogie board! There are plenty of sights to choose from in the Costa de la Luz from Cadiz Museums with its Phoenician and Roman Archaeology artifacts, or the Santa Clara Monastery where Christopher Columbus visited upon returning from his initial expedition, or the Arabic Baths in Jerez, or the Oratorio Ancient Ruins in Cadiz. There is an abundance for horse lovers including a Equestrian Art Museum, and a Museum or Horse and Carriages. The Natural Park Coto Donana in Santa Maria is the largest nature reserve in Spain. Costa De La Luz has typical Mediterranean weather, there are approximately 300 days of sun annually, with an average of 11 hours of sun during the summer. The winters in Costa De La Luz are extremely mild, with an average of 5hrs of sun per day. The max average temperature in August is 28ºC and in December is 14ºC.
