Costa Dorada Holidays The Costa Dorada is great place to spend your holidays, it is also conveniently close to Barcelona making it an excellent weekend break destination. Firstly it is located in close proximity to two international airports; Barcelona Airport (BCN), which is Spain's second ranked airport in terms of passenger traffic & amongst the ten busiest in Europe, & Reus Airport (REU) offering yet more flight options & closer proximity to the Costa's main resorts. See Costa Dorada Flights for more information/to search for flights. Those intending on exploring the region/visiting other parts of Spain will find the Costa Dorada an ideal base to do this from. This is mainly from an accessibility point of view, but also because of the wide choice of accommodation on offer. Opportunities for car hire are also good; see the Costa Dorada Car Hire document for more information. The Costa Dorada has been a popular tourist destination for many years. Resorts like Salou or Cambrils cater for families & are very child friendly, Sitges on the other hand is a good example of one of the Costa's more sophisticated destinations. Additionally there are a multitude of adventure sports companies offering a wealth of energetic holiday pursuits which include trekking, rock climbing, gorge scrambling/walking, potholing, mountain bike hire & trail rides, horse riding, quad bike safaris, 4x4 routes, hangliding, canoeing, archery, paint-balling, & more. As mentioned above one of Costa Dorada's big draws is its diversity, & this is carried through to the accommodation on offer. There are a multitude of good quality & affordable options on hotels & rental properties, catering from high-end to budget travel requirements. To search for hotels see Costa Dorada Hotels; to search for rental accommodation see Costa Dorada Apartments. The Costa Dorada is well known for its 150 kilometres of golden sandy beaches, so much so in fact that it is often referred to as Spain's gold coast. Many of the Costa Dorada Beaches are blue flag rated & kept meticulously clean. As with everything else the Costa Dorada's nightlife differs greatly from town to town. However if generalising, resort towns on the Costa Dorada are more grown up than in some other parts of Spain. With less commercial emphasis put on late evening entertainment. However all towns do subscribe to the annual fiesta circuit. These more traditional fiestas or festivals cover a wide range of events, & there are a number to choose from, see Costa Dorada Fiestas for more information. Costa Dorada Weather is welcoming pretty much all year round. Its summers are hot with temperatures rising up to 28°C, & the Costa Dorada's coldest months still only dip to an average temperature of 7-10°C. This means there is the potential to have lunch al fresco, or take part in outdoor activities for the vast majority of the year.
