El Vendrell The Mediterranean town of El Vendrell is a smallish town located in the far north of the Costa Dorada. El Vendrell has a population of just over 17,000 & is an authentic Spanish town with a character & charm all of it's own. There are some interesting buildings in the historic town centre & there are a number of museums present. Of course it's beaches are another major attractions, & in the main are well kept & made up of fine golden sand. Evening entertainment is a mixed bag, though it is fair to say that this is not the liveliest resort on the Costa Dorada. In recent years residential tourism has found its way to El Vendrell. However the identity & traditions of the people that live here are still very much alive, & many fiestas take place throughout the town calendar. Local cuisine is another bonus, with affordable good food available everywhere, alongside middle to high end restaurants. The climate in El Vendrell is welcoming for the majority of the year; highs reach 28°C during the hottest months, & average temperatures are at 7-10°C during the winter. However visitors should be aware that temperatures are on average 2-4°C cooler if venturing inland.
