The resort of El Medano is a neighboring resort of the popular hot spot of Playa de las Americas and Los Cristianos. Although El Medano is a small, quiet coastal resort. It is ideal for a relaxing family holiday or a water sports holiday!
Nightlife in El Medano is not exciting, there are many bars and restaurants to keep you entertained, but most nightlife happens in the hotels! The restaurants based near the seafront are ideal for people watching and relaxing!
During the day if you just fancy lying on a beach and relaxing with the children keeping amused, then the beach in El Medano is the longest on the island! Over 2km long, with shallow sea! There are showers and facilities along the beach front, and the bars and restaurants in the resort are based here! This beach though is more famous for its water sports and is enjoyed by the keen windsurfers!
If you fancy something more energetic then there are places to visit that are close to the resort, direct access from one of the motorways will take you too the main water park at the resort of Playa de las Americas, Octopus Aqua Park! The other water park on the island is close too, in Adeje!
There are a wide variety of excursions that run from the nearby resorts, you've got Whale watching and Dolphin watching, fishing excursions, Jeep safaris, Mount Tiede Tours, Zoos, Gardens, Golf clubs and go-karting near by So you will never be stuck for anything to do! Hiring a car is the better way to get to these from El Medano or just to go for the day exploring the island! There is a bus that can take you to the main resorts if you cannot drive or do not want to hire a car!
