Es Castell Tourist Information The resort of Es Castell is situated on the edge of the Capital of Menorca; Mahon (also known as Mao) overlooking the sea with much of Menorca's historical buildings here the city is quite beautiful.  The best time to visit Es Castell is between May and October, high season is from June to September.  There are many fine restaurants, shops, a good nightlife, and sights nearby.  There is a market twice weekly.  Its  a short drive from the airport, and a great place for a holiday in Menorca. The Punta Prima beach is very close to Es Castell and has fine white sand to one side and rocks to the other.  Facilities include pedaloes, windsurfing, and sailing equipment available to hire, and parking. There is allot of sights in Es Castell; there are Boat Tours, the Caves, Horse Harness Racing, the Mao Park, Military Governors House, Museum of Menorca, the Principal Theatre, St Francesc Church, the Xoriguer Gin Distillery, Yoga classes and much more.  Please see Es Castell Sightseeing for more details. The Club de Golf Son Parc golf course is situated just a few miles away from Es Castell.  Designed by Dave Thomas, close to the sea, surrounded by pine trees, and home to peacocks.  It is a moderately stunted and even course, trickier on the greens, however the wind can add challenges all over. Es Castell has a fiesta each year on 24th and 25th July called the fiesta de Sant Jaume there are parades and processions in the town it is well worth going to the Spanish really how to party and are very welcoming to tourists that want to join in. The closest marina to Es Castell is the Ribera del Puerto located in the capital it has 332 berths and facilities such as drinking water, electricity, 50tm travel lift, 50tm crane, maintenance and repairs, 24hr security, weather service, shipping canal, changing rooms, bar, restaurant, supermarket, laundry service, and a bank nearby.
