Gandia Cuisine Gandia is an excellent place to come if looking to savour traditional Spanish food. The traditional cuisine of Gandia is typical of that of the Valencian region, the most prominent dishes of which are rice based dishes. The most popular of these is Paella which is today widely seen as Spain's most prominent national dish. Seafood features heavily also with Gandia's small fishing fleet bringing in the catch of the day to the town restaurants and their expectant diners. Anyone who has spent any time in Spain will know that the day quite literally revolves around food and eating. Dining out is a popular pastime, and prices are usually reasonable enough for the average person to do this several times per week. As a result there are a multitude of restaurants and cafes to be found in the city; serving traditional fare alongside more modern tastes, and of course international cuisine. Mealtimes in Spain differ from those of other European countries. Lunchtime is usually taken at around 2pm, while the evening meal is at more like 10pm. Of course restaurants are often open throughout the day and evening, but do not expect a lively atmosphere until around these times.
