Girona Fiestas Spanish towns & cities are famous for their festivals or fiestas & a town with as much heritage as Girona is no exception. There are plenty of fiestas throughout the town calendar, see below for some of the most popular events:-
Girona's annual flower festival (Temps de Flors) takes place between May 14th-22nd. The city's old quarter is transformed into a magnificent garden, with elaborate floral arrangements & plants on display. Thus festival is viewed as an artistic event & encompasses many events; competitions are held, & many of the cities main installation & businesses participate in their own way. During the month of September Girona plays host to an international jazz festival. This event attracts many acts from all over the world & is a must for jazz fans. The Festival de Sant Narcis is officially Girona's main festivity & takes place at the end of October-beginning of November. This celebrates Girona's patron saint & is a varied & entertaining affair. Festivities consist of a large carnival, an agricultural fair, concerts, street theatres, food, drinks, fireworks, & much more.
