Cathedral Granada's Cathedral is an impressive structure located just off the Gran Via in central Granada. Though huge in size the first thing that strikes you is the proximity of the surrounding buildings & structures; so close in fact that it is very hard to get a good view/photo of the building. Its main (& most imposing) facade can be seen from Plaza Pasiegas; pointing away from the Gran Via. The construction of the Cathedral began in the year 1521, though it took over a whopping 180 years to finish. It was built on the site of a large Mosque; so large in fact that the Cathedral, Royal Chapel, & two other buildings share the spot it once occupied.
