Plaza Nueva The Plaza Nueva (meaning New Square) was constructed to cover up a section of the river Darro (which runs underneath it) in order to free up some space in the city centre. It was once used for bullfights & executions among other things. Today it is the site for the Royal Chancellery & the High Court. The Plaza Nueva is one of the best places to stay in Granada.
