Igualada Igualada is the capital of the L'Anoia region/county. It is situated on the banks of the Noya river & has a population of approximately 30,000 people. The town centre still boasts remains of its old fortifications, with many winding narrow streets leading from them past old village houses. The town's textile businesses have ensured growth here however, & there are some new parts of town with pleasant streets & shops. One thing worth mentioning is the town's yearly hot air balloon festival (held in July), which is one of the largest of its kind in Europe.
