L'Ametlla de Mar The town of L'Ametlla de Mar is a small pretty fishing village located on the southern portion of the Costa Dorada. The town's principal business now revolves around tourism (with mainly Spanish nationals visiting), though there is still a thriving fishing business & a modern marina to uphold the town's nautical tradition. There are some nice sandy beaches in L'Ametlla de Mar, as well as a good collection of restaurants & other amenities. Evening entertainment is a mixed bag, though it is fair to say that this is not the liveliest resort on the Costa Dorada. In recent years residential tourism has found its way to L'Ametlla de Mar. However the identity & traditions of the people that live here are still very much alive, & many fiestas take place throughout the town calendar. Local cuisine is another bonus, with affordable good food available everywhere, alongside middle to high end restaurants. The climate in L'Ametlla de Mar is welcoming for the majority of the year; highs reach 28°C during the hottest months, & average temperatures are at 7-10°C during the winter. However visitors should be aware that temperatures are on average 2-4°C cooler if venturing inland.
