La Savina Tourist Information
La Savina is located in north west Formentera, in between the towns of Porto Saler (to the east) and Cala Sahona (to the west). The La Savina beach has facilities such as sailing and windsurfing, there are many cafes, and it is unknown whether nudity is accepted at the La Savina each beach. There are plenty of sights in La Savina from the lighthouse, market, monuments, the walking/cycling trails, and day trips to Ibiza and Espalmador Island which is very accessible from La Savina. In terms of facilities there is a good bus service running from La Savina to other Formentera town, plenty of hotels, restaurants, and cafes, and a few shops. The best time to visit La Savina is between May and October, high season is from June to September.
If you are staying in La Savina you are always walking distance from the port and the island of Espalmador is great for a day trip from La Savina. It is a small uninhabited island located just 150m from Formentera just 3 km in length and 1 km wide. There are many beaches with fine golden sand, no facilities at all so take plenty of food drink and sun cream, it is unknown whether nudity is accepted on Espalmador island.
Formentera is an unspoilt island great for a relaxing "get away from it all" holiday. Home to most of the best beaches within the Balearics with white fine sand, shallow crystal clear waters, with very good underwater visibility (perfect for snorkeling and scuba diving). Most beaches have bars selling drinks and tapas, allot have boats for hire and all are recommended for snorkeling, and scuba diving. Most of the beaches in Formentera are tolerant of the nudists and some are completely naked, nudist, au naturale beaches.
There are many sporting activities to choose from in Formentera including; windsurfing, fishing, sailing, fishing, boating, cycling, hiking, snorkeling, scuba diving, bird watching, painting, and photography. You can visit the sand dunes, caves, lakes, windmills, view points, lighthouses, and markets to name but a few.
