Lanzarote is the new up and coming Gay resort in Europe, although not yet as big and well known as Gran Canaria - it is slowly getting there!
Lanzarote is very welcoming to Gays so the majority of Hotels are Gay friendly, all restaurants and places to eat out are also friendly across the island. During the day and evening there is plenty of things to do - There are more bars opening that cater for the Gay community which is slowly rising.
During the Day if you are a beach lover there are plenty of amazing and beautiful beaches to visit, if lying on a beach soaking up the sun is not your thing then there is also lots of natural tourist attractions and places to visit to keep you busy!
Puerto del Carmen Beach. Known as Playa Grande, this is a long beach that faces the resort and is always busy with sun worshippers gay or straight! On the other hand if nudism is your thing, then head for the Airport Beach, right at the side of the runway - this beach is also known for its Cruising activities and is very accomodating for the cruisey queen. It has more action during the late afternoon with lots of bisexual and closet Gays. Or the fabulous golden sands of Papagayo, situated in the south of the island, 5 km east of Playa Blanca where naked sunbathing is common but not compulsory. Access by a dirt track, so car hire is must, this gorgeous golden sandy beach is fab for the sun worshiper and again it is rumoured that cruising goes on here.
Playa Chica beach is host to a wide variety of sporting activities, if you want to be out in the sun but get bored of just lying there sunbathing. Here one can take Diving Lessons, rent Jet Skis, go Parasailing or do a touch of Snorkelling. If Body Boarding or Surfing are your thing, then you will find some of the best surf the Atlantic Ocean has to offer at the beaches at Famara and La Santa in the South West - not for the faint hearted! The main beach at Costa Teguise is known as Las Cucharas and is world famous amongst the Windsurfing community.
At night as mentioned above there are plenty of bars and clubs, eating out although there is not yet an exclusive Gay restaurant, all restaurants across the island are welcoming - you can get a wide variety of food here including; Authentic Spanish, Fish and Chips, Chinese, Tapas, Thai, Italian, English, French, Lebanese, Kebabs & Pizzas, anything you could want. Plus the bars are not specific for Gays are also welcoming too. Although there is more and more opening now to provide more places to party for the ever rising Gay community! They include;

Lady Mucks Comedy Drag Show Bar - Behind Centro Atlantico,Puerto Del Carmen
Open 8.30pm till 2 am. Situated next door to Bar Free, this small yet fun packed bar is also a must for the queens who are up for a laugh and entertainment before doing the gay scene. Hosted by lady Muck starring with Tania and Lily Lush, you will have a great time swilling back the beers and getting ready for a night out of fun and frolics.

Titti Trollops Music Hall Tavern - On the main beach front road, Puerto Del Carmen
Open from 7 pm till 1am. Situated slightly out of the main town, this famous bustling theatre style venue is a must for you show queens. Titti hosts a non stop truly entertaining show with Dame Nellie Pledge and the delightful Betty. 7 nights a week with 7 different shows. A real not to be missed night out!

Clubs
Boyz Central - Centro Atlantico, Puerto del Carmen
We have now taken over both Burlerys Bar and Lanza Bar. Both of these venues are visible on the map and are GAY venues. That will soon become Boyz Central. Open 1.30am til 6am, this is the latest and newest venue to join the island. It has a great fun atmosphere and also regular late night shows. Situated directly between Black & White and Free, it is conveniently located so that both bars can roll into one and have a ball to finish off the night.
Black & White - Centro Atlantico, Puerto del Carmen
Open from 9.30pm till 4am. Situated in Centro Atlantico. This popular trendy club is a hit with both tourists and residents. A classy but down to earth atmosphere with all drinks €3 on Mondays and 2 drinks for the price of 1 on Wednesdays served by gorgeous barman Miguel while DJ Plod - our very own lesbian DJ rocks the house every Friday & Saturday with DJ Lee taking care of business the rest of the week.
Bar Free - Behind Centro Atlantico,Puerto Del Carmen
Open 10.30 till 4am. Situated directly behind Centro Atlantico, this modern bar/club offers a blend of fun and cruising , with regular Shows and Striptease Nights with English DJ and a large video and dark room.
