| Las Salinas Tourist Information Las Salinas is located at the northern tip of Formentera Island in between the towns of Es Pujols (to the east) and La Savina (to the west). Las Salinas is famed for its salt lakes, which produce a high level of iodine into the air making the air highly healthy. People with arthritis say that they lead a healthier life here because of the Salt fields. The beach in Las Salinas beach is also known as Es Migjorn. It is a popular large beach close to the salt lakes, with a mix of sand and stone, the waters are generally calm and the following facilities available; water sports, umbrellas, beach bars, boats for hire, and life guards, nudity is normally accepted on this beach. There are plenty of sight in and around Las Salinas from the world heritage natural park, or the towers, caves, and markets. In terms of facilities there are plenty of restaurants, cafes, and a few shops in Las Salinas, everything you could want for on a relaxing holiday. The best time to visit Las Salinas is between May and October, high season is from June to September. Espalmador Island is great for a day trip from Las Salinas it is a small uninhabited island located just 150m from Formentera just 3 km in length and 1 km wide. You can catch a boat to the island of Espalmador from port of Formentera there are many beaches with fine golden sand, no facilities at all, it is unknown whether nudity is accepted on this island. Formentera is an unspoilt island great for a relaxing "get away from it all" holiday. Home to most of the best beaches within the Balearics with white fine sand, shallow crystal clear waters, with very good underwater visibility (great for snorkeling and scuba diving). There are around ten really great beaches, most have beach bars selling tapas, some with boats for hire either with or without a crew. All are recommended for snorkeling, and scuba diving. Most of the beaches in Formentera are tolerant of the nudists and some are completely naked, nudist, au naturale beaches. There are many activities to do in Formentera including windsurfing, fishing, sailing, fishing, boating (boats are available to hire in most resorts), cycling (there are over 20 cycle paths), walking, snorkeling, scuba diving, bird watching (at the world heritage park), painting and photography (countless Artists holiday in Formentera). You can visit the sand dunes, caves, lakes, windmills, view points, lighthouses, and markets to name but a few.
