Tenerife has 2 airports, the main is in the South, Sur Reina Sofia Airport and then there is Los Rodeos Airport in the North.

Los Rodeos Airport is the oldest airport, out of the two and until Sur Reina Sofia Airport was built it was the main one. Then that fatal disaster plane crash happened there in 1977 where two 747's collided. After that until 2003 the airport was used domestically to fly to other Islands in the Archipelago in the Canaries.
It is based in the North of Tenerife Island. Only 9km from the main town of Santa Cruz de Tenerife.
With only one terminal, this is a relatively easy airport to get through. There are numerous food facilities here, Including; Bar Tenerife, Cafe Careca and Cafe Rittaze which is fast food.
There is also plenty of shopping facilities at the airport including; La Casa de los Balcones, López Echeto, Dulces y helados artesanos which is a store selling local sweets and ice creams, Tenerife Deli - with local specialities, Timberland, Levi Strauss and several fashion stores. The Canariensis sells newspapers, tobacco and snack-food.
Banking services are available at the Caja Canarias which is open 08:30-14:00 most days.
There isn't a business centre at this Los Rodeos Airport, although you can get assistance by contacting the airports information counter.
At Los Rodeos Airport there are dedicated check-in facilities for people with disabilities, disabled toilets and good wheelchair access throughout the Airport terminal. For further assistance boarding, passenger's are advised to contact the airline in advance.
Taxis are located just outside the front of the main terminal of Los Rodeos Airport, and will take you to your destination on the island. There are also several buses that connect with the airport and they will take you to the majority of the main resorts, passing through smaller ones on the way!!
