Madrid Markets In most areas of Madrid there is a weekly market.  This is an important part of the community, and shopping in Madrid and all over Spain.  Full of atmosphere and bursting with Madrilenos it is a great place to pick up souvenirs such as clothes, jewellery, leather products, or try some juicy fresh Spanish fruit; the water melon is fabulous.  Markets tend to start around 10am and close around 2pm, although most Markets are weekly, some Markets are held daily and stay open till around late into the evening.
