Welcome to Magaluf Shopping
Shopping in Magaluf is very relaxed, Mallorca / Majorca is actually famous for its shopping especially around Palma - the islands capital. In Palma you can find everything from your top designer shops to your normal fashion houses. With the atmosphere you get round the little squares and streets shopping in Mallorca couldn't be more fun and enjoyable. Magaluf however, does not have such a wide variety of shops, you will find the basics here plus the usual tourist toot shops, Jellewery and electrical goods shops too! But to do some serious you should take the short journey to Palma! Most shops are open from around 10am to 1:30pm and 5pm to 8pm Monday to Friday, and on Saturday mornings. The exceptions are souvenir shops in the Magaluf, which stay open every day, El Corte Ingles (leading department store in Spain), Pryca, and the Gigante chain of supermarkets, open throughout the day Monday to Saturday. If you, like me like the markets for a good haggle and great bargain there are plenty across the island of Mallorca and many near or in Magaluf....Make sure you try to barter as it makes that bargain even more satisfying!!! The weekly market in Sineu, is worth a visit during your holiday, it's always worth a visit to one of the markets which are to be found in many of the islands villages. The most fascinating of these takes place every Wednesday in the small town of Sineu, close to Inca. The market has the usual stools selling fruit, vegetables, meat and dairy products, and local produce such as a large choice of Mallorcan hand made arts, pottery, leather goods etc. Also it has the farming community offering all kinds of live animals. You can buy almost anything cows, horses, donkeys, sheep, hens, goats, ducks, or even a kitten to take home if you have the room! It's also particularly interesting to observe the locals bartering. The market in Sineu opens at 8:00 but get there early as it soon becomes very busy. After you have finished your shopping and sightseeing trip take a lunch in one of the excellent cellar restaurants or taverns around the market square, close to the church are lovely.
