Malgrat Beaches Malgrat is a charming coastal destination well known for its sandy beaches. Though most of the coastline is made up of beaches with course golden sand, there are a number of rocky coves for those who prefer to indulge in a spot of snorkeling. Although beaches are the town's main attraction, visitors to the area will rarely find them overcrowded. Great care & attention is paid to litter collection, with lifeguards/police patrols operating in popular spots. Please see below for information on Malgrat's most popular beaches: -   Playa de Malgrat / Malgrat Beach Playa Malgrat is a reasonably long beach made up of course golden sand, & has been awarded the European blue flag for cleanliness & clarity of water. Due to it's location fronting the town centre Playa Malgrat does have a relatively high occupancy level for the area, though it is still lower than in many Costa Brava towns. The beach is flanked by a seafront promenade, & due to its urban location ha many access points.
