Nuevo Horizonte is a small holiday resort situated along the east coast of Fuerteventura. Close by to the popular Tourist resort of Caleta de Fuste. originally Nuevo Horizonte was built with the tourism industry in mind to and there is still new developments going up around the area.
Nuevo Horizonte is an ideal place to go if you are wanting to be close to the busy resort of Caleta de Fuste but away from the hustle and bustle of the resorts everyday life! You can reach Caleta by an attractive coastal walk, along this walk you will see many chipmunks!! For those that do not associate walking with holidays then you can also get there by taxi which costs about 3 Euros.

The nightlife in Nuevo Horizonte is quite quiet. There are a few cafes, shops, bars and restaurants; including Irish and English bars that are in the different complexes and commercial centres but if you are looking for more of a variety and are looking to party the night away then you will have to go to the neighbouring resort of Caleta. Where the nightlife is lively and takes place around the many Commercial centres in the resort. There is a huge variety of bars and restaurants in the centre you really can have a great night out if you like the kind of tourist nightlife that includes karaoke bars, cheesy entertainment and live music! Due to it being a tourist resort there are not many tapas bars and no traditional ones, what you will find in the way of restaurants are thousands of Chinese's, English, Italian, Steak House's, Seafood etc the usual!! With the all this you'll never be stuck for anything to do in the evening! Alternatively the majority of the main hotels in the resort have brilliant restaurants and a varied entertainment schedule which is perfect for those with the younger families!
For the beach again you will have to go Caleta de Fuste as although Nuevo Horizonte is a coastal resort it is very rocky coast! Caleta's beach was rocky too until the resort built a man made beach and imported sand to it!!
Although as an Island Fuerteventura does not contain the usual water parks, zoo's and theme parks as lot of of other holiday destinations do, but it as an immense amount of beautiful land and surrounding ocean, with a national park in the South and lots of history throughout for you to explore!
There are many Apartments and villas that available to rent for your holiday, in Nuevo Horizonte - depending whether you want are looking for a basic property somewhere just to lay your head a night or luxurious with an abundance of facilities! Properties range in size and shape, from studio's or one bedroom apartments, if there are just the two of you to three bedroom - normally sleeping up 8 if your taking the family or going in a big group, or one bedroom villas and bungalows up to 6 bedroom villas! If you can't find it in Nuevo Horizonte then you will be able to find something suitable in the nearby resort of Caleta de Fuste.
There are Companies that rent these properties out, but also there is private rentals, where people that have bought the property for holiday homes and when they are not there using it they will rent it out for your exclusive use! Some of these properties can be set in privately owned complexes, where locals live! Most come with communal swimming pools too, and these are normally quieter due to the fact it isn't full of holiday makers and is more residencial. A word of warning though these are quieter and normally better for families or older groups than the young tourists!!!
