Palace of Santo Duque The Palacio de Santo Duque (or Palace of Santo Duque) dates from the 15th century and is of historical importance as it was the birthplace of San Francisco de Borja (St. Francis of Borja), Gandia's duke. A descendant of the Borja line which includes two popes he was an important religious figure at one time heading up the Spanish Jesuit church. Though the Palace of Santo Duque was transformed in later years into a Jesuit sanctuary it remains a beautiful construct. Prominent features include the main staircase and patio de armas.
