Paseo de Pereda Santander's Paseo de Pereda (meaning Pereda walk) is one of the city's most popular places for a stroll. Some of Santander's oldest  and grandest residential buildings line the street here and there are a multitude of cafes and bars to cater for those in need of refreshment. The paseo stretches for 1.5 kilometres with wide boulevards, shaded areas, ornate lamposts, and fountains throughout.
