The resort of Playa de las Americas is Tenerife 'hot spot' most famous for its black beaches and nightlife! It is the tourist Mecca, favoured by northern Europeans and youngsters to come and party!! Built in the late 1960's it is virtually not Canarian at all!!
There are several beaches here including small secluded and long stretches of white fine sand!! Most are child friendly, with water sports, ringo's paragliding and banana boats, along the shore and bars and restaurant along the edge of the sand!
Although daytime activities are plentiful the resort comes to life at night, the world famous Veronicas strip is packed jam full with bars, restaurants and discothèques (nightclubs)!!!

If you are looking to paint the town red, the look no further, in true Spanish style once the sun goes down the restaurant, bars and nightclubs come alive!! If you like the hip-swaying salsa music, Live bands, Cover bands, jazz, or anything else then you will find it here! Irish bars and English bars galore!!
Unfortunately you'd be hard to find true Spanish food along the strip, but English Fish and Chips or Pub food and Chinese is a plenty!!
There are a lot of various excursion that run from here you've got the Jeep safaris, Mount Tiede Tours, Whale watching and if all that's not enough you could hire a car to get of the hustle and bustle of this popular town and go somewhere quieter for the day exploring!
There is plenty to do if your not relaxing on the beach or at your pool nursing your head from the night before, preparing for that night! Such as the main water park is at the resort of Playa de las Americas, Octopus Aqua Park! The other one on the island isn't far either! There are also Zoos, Gardens, Golf clubs, Whale watching and Dolphin watching, go-karting, fishing and lost of water sports! So you will never be stuck for anything to do!
There are plenty of Apartments to rent for your holiday, in Playas de las Americas, whether you want a basic apartment just to lay your head a night or luxurious with an abundance of facilities! They range in size from studio's or one bedroom apartments if there are just the two of you to three bedroom - normally sleeping up 8 if your taking the family or going in a big group.
There also the private rentals, people that have bought the property for holiday homes and when they are not there rent out for your exclusive use! These are lovely, normally set in privately owned complexes, where people live! Most come with communal swimming pools too, and these are normally quieter due to this. A word of warning though these are quieter and normally better for families or older groups than the young tourists!!!
Prices range from €40 per day for a Studio in Playas de las Americas upwards. They will do deals for the longer you have it, it becomes cheaper per day! But generally you are looking from €150 per week for a Studio rental and prices go compared to size and location.

The transfer time is one and a half hour's away from Sur Reina Airport so very rarely do you see or hear the planes as it is not in a flight path!
