The centre of Nightlife in Lanzarote is at the 'Avenida de las Playas' in Puerto del Carmen and the 'Centro Atlantico' in particular, although there are many things to do in the evening in Puerto del Carmen including the many bars and restaurants there is the Casino and the Rancho Texas.
Puerto del Carmen is the “pulsating” tourist centre for nightlife of the Island with two merging areas: the famous promenade packed with live music bars, pubs and discos to suit most tastes; and la Tiñosa which unfolds around the old fishermen’s port and it is soaked in a very special atmosphere.
Bars and clubs offer a wide selection of live and recorded music ranging from rock and roll and jazz and the rhythms of salsa an rhumba to flamenco and Canarian folklore. A more restful evening can be spent in one of the many restaurants or pleasant hotel lounges and cocktail bars.
Bars are open all day every day until the early hours. So if you fancy partying hard into the night you should copy the locals and have a siesta!!! Discos and nights clubs usually open around 11 pm and close when the last body has left, which is usually around 5 or 6 in the morning!! Please be aware that 'clubs' and 'nightclubs' are not the same as in England these places are brothels and strip joints, if you fancy dancing the places you should look for are 'disco's' or 'discotheques'!!
Alternatively you can enjoy the calm tranquility and safe serenity of the warm nights of Puerto del Carmen by talking a leisurely stroll along the beach promenade.
There is only one casino in Lanzarote and thats Casino de Lanzarote. It is located in Puerto del Carmen, and is great and a lovely evening out if you enjoy a flutter or even just soak up the atmosphere!
You will be able to find many restaurants where you can just sit in peace and watch the world go by along the seafront and promenade as most lively action takes place around the commercial centres. To eat there is everything from lovely Tapas Bars and more traditional Canarian restaurants to the typical Chinese, English etc wherever you are staying! Around the quieter resorts and coastal villages you will find lots of little fishing ports where you can just sit under the stars until the early hours watching the world go by! Just remember whatever you do Enjoy and have FUN!!!!
The Rancho Texas Park in Puerto del Carmen has Country and Western Nights and these are legendary in Lanzarote. At the Rancho Texas the whole family can party the night away, the entertainment team will keep everyone entertained with Live Music and Line Dancing and special entertainment for the Kids. Plus you can eat as much of the American Food, BBQ and Desserts as you like and enjoy the free-flowing Beer, Sangria and Soft Drinks all included in the price!!
For Gays, at night as there are plenty of bars and clubs, eating out although there is not yet an exclusive Gay restaurant, all restaurants across the island are welcoming - you can get a wide variety of food here including; Authentic Spanish, Fish and Chips, Chinese, Tapas, Thai, Italian, English, French, Lebanese, Kebabs & Pizzas, anything you could want. Plus the bars are not specific for Gays are also welcoming too. Although there is more and more opening now to provide more places to party for the ever rising Gay community!
If you are looking for the non-tourist oriented places and get a taste of real Spanish nightlife, then Arrecife the capital of the island, is the place to go.
So if you are going with the family or friends, whether you are young or old, Puerto del Carmen in Lanzarote will have something to suit you!!
