The Canary Islands is duty free, so that includes Tenerife and Puerto de la Cruz! So if you are looking to buy tobacco, wines, spirits, Jewellery and perfumes, look no further they are much cheaper here than in other EU countries!
If whilst on holiday you are wanting to do some serious shopping, then you will have to leave Puerto de la Cruz and go acroos the island where there are several shopping centre's that have sprung up! There's; Corte Ingles department store in Santa Cruz, Carrefour off the TF-1 motorway and Continente next to the TF-5 motorway. These rae not too far away!
Puerto de la Cruz has all the usual extremely cheap electrical goods, so if you are wanting a new camera or maybe somehing else then take a look at the prices here! You will also find the usual souvenir shops and a small array of clothes shops!
House of Wines - This is beautifully restored museum that is not too far away from the resort, visitors can help themselves to a sample of the local wines and cuisine!

In La Laguna, just outside of Puerto de las Cruz, the old town centre you will find the most interesting shops. Where as the best shopping is in Santa Cruz de Tenerife, again only about an half hour drive away. Here you can buy National and International fashion in the boutiques of Rambla de Pulido, Calle del Castillo or between Calle Jesus Nazareno and Calle Sabino Berhelot. Other good shops here are; Bethencourt Alfonso and San Jose, Villalba Hervas, Plaza de Espana and Plaza de la Canelaria.
If you, like me like the markets for a good haggle and great bargain there are plenty across the island of Tenerife, But none in Puerto de la Cruz although there is one in Santa Cruz close by...Make sure you try to barter as it makes that bargain even more satisfying!!!
