Playa Montjoi / Montjoyi Beach Playa Montjoi (also known as Cala Montjoi) is located some seven kilometres from the centre of Roses. Although not nearly the town's closest beach it is a popular spot. The cove itself is wide, measuring approximately 300 metres & is made up of coarse yellow sand with pebbles. There are a good selection of facilities present here, from water sports to dining options. One place worth mentioning is the acclaimed El Bulli restaurant, one of just two establishments in Spain to be consistently awarded three Michelin stars. Facilities include; Sun beds & umbrellas, toilets & showers, water sports, dive school, life guards, & regular police patrols. Playa Santa Margarida / Santa Margarida Beach Playa Santa Margarida is flanked by a residential zone popular amongst ex-pats & those with holiday homes. This ensures a reasonably high level of occupancy during the summer months. The beach is made up of fine golden sand & measures some 700 metres. Flanking the beach is a pleasant seafront promenade with plenty of chiringuitos (beach front cafes). Facilities include; Sun beds & umbrellas, toilets & showers, water sports, life guards, & regular police patrols. Playa Punta / Punta Beach Playa Punta is one of Roses' most centrally located beaches. It is made up of fine golden sand, measures approximately 600 metres & has been awarded the European blue flag for cleanliness & clarity of water. Due to location the beach is urbanised, flanked with a seafront promenade, & well serviced by a host of eateries & other amenities. Occupancy here tends to be high during the peak season. Facilities include; Sun beds & umbrellas, toilets & showers, water sports, boat hire, volleyball net, children's play area, parking, life guards, & regular police patrols. Playa de Roses / Roses Beach Playa de Roses is the largest of Roses' central beaches with an overall length of 1800 metres & considerable width in places. Made up of fine golden sand & shallow waters great effort is made to ensure it is kept in pristine condition, & as a result has been awarded the European blue flag. Due to it's accessibility the beach has a high occupancy level during the summer months; especially at weekends. Facilities include; Sun beds & umbrellas, toilets & showers, water sports, boat hire, volleyball net, children's play area, parking, life guards, & regular police patrols.
