Roses Golf The ancient town of Roses has attracted the tourist trade for many years now. This is mainly due to the town's heritage & it's excellent positioning on the shores of the Mediterranean, but another major feature is that the countryside surrounding the town is widely thought of as being some of the most beautiful in all of Spain. These facts together with an agreeable year round climate have ensured that there are a good selection of quality golf courses present. The entire region around Roses & throughout the Costa Brava is considerably wetter than that of southern Spain, however it is still mild enough to play golf in all seasons. In fact the summer heat is less oppressive & may make for more comfortable play during the hottest months. One major upside to the wetter weather is evident in the green & fertile lands that surround Roses, & its courses have truly benefited from this. The Serres de Pals golf club is located between the villages of Pals & Torroella de Montgri. Its location just 2 kilometres from the coast has ensured its popularity amongst visiting golfers as well as locals The Platja de Pals golf club was designed & completed in the sixties. It was an instant hit & fast became one of Spain's top courses, hosting numerous international competitions The Emporda golf club was first inaugurated in 1991 & is now well established as a leading European golf course. The course consists of three 9 hole offerings, each presenting a different feel & style of play The Girona golf club first opened its doors in 1991 & is located just 5 minutes drive from the town of Girona. The course is an 18 hole par 72 course designed by acclaimed English course architect F.W.Hawtree The D'Aro golf club was first inaugurated in 1992 & has been held in high acclaim ever since. Costa Brava golf clubs tend to subscribe to the typical membership scenario (ditched by many clubs in southern Spain). Green time is usually available to the visitor, though booking is almost always necessary. Those turning up on the day expecting to play may find themselves disappointed.
