Rota is a small historical coastal town situated just outside of Cadiz the Capital of the Costa de la Luz coastline. There are many sights in and around Rota the Donana National Park is the largest nature reserve in Spain. There is a daily fish market in Rota from around 10am-2pm, full of atmosphere and bursting with locals it is a great place to pick up souvenirs or food.

There is 10 miles of golden sandy beaches in Rota two of which are blue flag awarded; the La Costilla and the Punta Candor both have lifeguards from spring till autumn. The La Costilla and Rompidillo and often less crowded by more temperate waters and no lifeguards.
Rota has typical Mediterranean weather, there are approximately 300 days of sun annually, with an average of 11 hours of sun during the summer. The winters in Rota are extremely mild, with an average of 5 hours of sun per day. The max average temperature in August is 28ºC and in December is 14ºC.
