Sagrada Familia School The Sagrada Familia plot plays host to a small school built by its chief architect Antoni Gaudi between 1908 & 1909. Though it was intended to be used by the children of the men who helped to build the temple, it has managed to survive (though with mixed fortunes) until present day. Many consider the school to be an important Gaudi work, & certainly it does possess some interesting features; notably its undulating roof. The interior of the school building consisted of 3 classrooms, teaching 45 to 55 children in each. Today it is used as an office for the Sagrada Familia & is open for visitors. Recently the construction of the Sagrada Familia building reached the school walls, which will have to have a section removed to make way. In the long term it is likely that the school building will be torn down completely & moved to another location.
