San Agustin is a quiet resort close to the lively and busy resorts of Playa del Ingles and Maspalomas in the South of Gran Canaria. Its is a brilliant place to go if you fancy a fun filled holiday, although at the same time also a bit of peace and quiet - only minutes away, in its neighbouring resorts will provide you with a brilliant nightlife and an abundance day time activitives. With an plenty of Theme and Amusement Parks and tourist attractions that surrond Soutn Gran Canaria and San Agustin.
If you prefer just a relaxing beach holiday and using the facilities and some of the activities that are provided along the beach, San Augustin is the first beach along the southeast coast, and not as well known as its neighbouring beaches therefore it is a lot less lively and has a quieter and more relaxing atmosphere! The beach is some 700 metres long, the sand is a little darker than Maspalomas and Playa del Ingles, it is on a slight slope and well protected from the waves also which makes it excellent conditions for those who would like to go snorkeling or diving! There are some beautiful sea-food restaurants along the front here too.
The Nightlife in San Agustin is much more sophisticated than its neighbours, with plenty of lovely bars and nice restaurants. But if you are looking at partying the night away then you will have to go to the resorts neighbour - Playa del Ingles where in true Spanish style once the sun goes down here the restaurant, bars and nightclubs come alive!! If you like the hip-swaying salsa music, Live bands, Cover bands, jazz, or anything else then you will find it there! Although in San Agustin resort you will also find an array of bars and that will cater for families and couples wanting to relax and watch the world go by! Or maybe you fancy taking in a show? You will find everything you need in and within minutes of the resort!
If you are looking for an active holiday there are plenty of places for you to visit and things to do in and surrounding southern Gran Canaria and San Agustin. Playa del Ingles and Maspalomas have many things to do and attractions to see, including the Water parks, of which there are two located in the south of the Island and close by to the resort, Aquasur, Ocean Park and Aqua Park in Puerto Rico. There is also theme and amusement parks, which include; Palmitos Park which is a subtropical oasis and Zoo, Holiday World which is a leisure and amusement park, Parque de los Cocodrilo - a Crocodile Park, Gran Canaria's only zoological park and Mundo Aborigen Located overlooking the Barranco de Fataga, which is the biggest and most dramatic gorge on the island, The Mundo Aborigen is a reconstruction of an ancient Canary village devoted entirely to the Guanche way of life.
Other Tourist Attractions that are in San Agustin include the water sports including; Deep Sea Fishing, Sailing, Surfing, Body Boarding and windsurfing, and also Whale and Dolphin excursions like many of the other Resorts in Gran Canaria!
When vacating to San Agustin, you should really go exploring the rest of Gran Canarias island you will see many spectacular views and scenery, in the mountains, forests, coastal and spectacular beaches or sand dunes! These are all easily accessible from San Agustin, whether you hire a car and explore in your own private group or perhaps take an excursion, which you can organise through a tour operator or it is easy to find a company that does this in the centre of the resort.
