San Augustin is in the South of Gran Canaria so the majority of the time the weather there is beautifully warm! In Maspalomas the temperatures are generally a lot higher than the South!
The temperature is rarely too high and almost always constant. The average temperatures in the summer months are between 26 ºC and 28 ºC (79 – 82 °F), often exceeding 30 °C (86 °F), and in the winter months between 22 ºC and 24 ºC.
As with other Canary Islands, the climate in the north of Gran Canaria often differs from the south, most temperatures are given from Las Palmas - expect it to be around 5°C cooler in the north!!!
Gran Canaria's weather, similar to all of the islands in the archipelago of the Canaries has an all year round climate. With the West African coast with its dry and hot climate is just a few kilometres away, even though this is the case Gran Canaria as do the rest of the Canary Islands experience a 'Spring like' temperature throughout the year. Although the temperature can be a little milder than its neighbouring islands.
Gran Canaria holds a wide variety of microclimates that go from the subtropical to the continental climates. It is a mountainous island where the trade winds prevail all year. This island has the nickname 'continent in miniature' from the variety of climates that are across the island sometimes, you can see snow in the highest peaks, and just a few kilometres away you will get both tropical temperatures and extreme cold.
