Sant Adria de Besos Sant Adria de Besos originated from its church of Sant Adria, as in the year 1012 a group of monks are recorded as living there. When their monastery was moved to a new site in 1127 people gathered to live around the church & the town ws formed. Today it is home to approximately 33,000 people. The town is situated at the mouth of the river Besos on the coastline, & as such boasts a large marina. It is not without industry however & the town is often recognised from a distance by the three tall chimneys of the Besos & Fesca power plants. It is well connected with Barcelona by both rail & road.
