The best time to visit Sant Francesc Xavier (the capital of Formentera) is between May and October, high season is from June to September. Espalmador island is great fun for a day from Formentera. Espalmador is a small uninhabited island located just 150m from Formentera and measures 3km x 1km. There are many beaches with fine golden sand, no facilities whatsoever so take plenty of food, drink, and sun cream, it is unknown whether nudity is accepted on Espalmador island.
There are many sporting activities to choose from in Formentera including; windsurfing, fishing, sailing, fishing, boating, cycling, hiking, snorkeling, scuba diving, bird watching, painting, and photography. You can visit the sand dunes, caves, lakes, windmills, view points, lighthouses, and markets to name but a few.
