Santander Beaches With it the city of Santander occupying a spot on Spain Atlantic coast it's coastline is varied and often dramatic. There are of course many attractive beaches to enjoy, from urbanised stretches to more rural alternatives. The vast majority of them are clean and well looked after with golden sand. La Concha Beach / Playa La Concha This small-ish urbanised beach is flanked by a host of services and facilities. It is made up of fine golden sand. Sardinero Beach / Playa Sardinero One of the largest beaches in the area at approximately 1300 metres Sardinero beach takes it's name from the santander racetrack nearby. It is one of the city's most popular coastal locales and can get busy during the summer months. It is made up of fine golden sand. Matalenas Beach / Playa Matalenas Although small this is a very attractive beach made up of fine golden sand. It sits near to a 9 hole golf course. Los Biquinis Beach / Playa Los Biquinis This 600 metre long beach is located in the vicinity of the Magdalena Royal Palace. The waters here are generally calm as the beach is protected by a bay. It is made up of fine golden sand.
