Seville Town Hall Seville's 16th century town hall (Ayuntamiento in Spanish) is one of the best and most beautiful examples of Plateresque architecture in the city. It separates the city's historic and shopping districts and is a popular place to come for a horse and carriage ride around Seville. The building is a mix of styles due to its renovation during the 19th century. The most detailed of it's facades is the oldest (facing Plaza San Francisco), and depicts the legendary characters of Caesar and Hercules; who (so legend tells us) is supposed to be the true founder of Seville.
