| Son Bou Tourist Information Son Bou is located along the coast next to Cala Galdana south west Menorca Island. Just 10 miles from the capital (Mahon or Mao as some people call it) and 30 minutes drive from the airport it is centrally located. The best time to visit Son Bou is between May and October, high season is from June to September. There are many sights near to the resort of Son Bou from castles, museums, markets, scuba diving schools and much more. The Club de Golf Son Parc golf course is situated a short drive from Son Bou. Overlooking the sea, surrounded by pine trees, and home to many peacocks. It is a moderately short and even course, trickier on the greens, however the wind can add challenges on every hole. Please see Son Bou Golf for more details. There are many fiestas all over Menorca Son Bou does not have its own, however the locals are normally very welcoming with tourists that want to join in with fiestas. I would very much recommend going to a Spanish Fiesta in Menorca as the locals really know how to party. A typical fiesta is celebrated annually and usually local businesses close, the roads are blocked off, and a street party is set up with food, drink and music in abundance. People of all ages join the party in singing and dancing. Then in the evening the there is usually a fair ground, and often on the last night there will be a fireworks display. Sometimes there is even a bank holiday the day after the fiesta for the town to recover. Son Bou Menorca beach is maybe the longest beach in Menorca, it is popular but can get very crowded. There are many water sports facilities including banana boats, canoes, and pedaloes for rent. There are several marinas in Menorca Spain the biggest is in Mahon (the capital of Menorca) it is called Ribera del Puerto with around 332 berths. Son Bou does not have its own marina but there are a few near by please see Son Bou Marinas for more details. Son Bou is a small resort however it does have several shops, bars, and restaurants. There is also a huge maze, a couple of water slides, and a tourist train running around Son Bou. There is a regular bus service running to the inland town of Alaior a handful of times a day. From Alaior you can get a bus to most other towns in Menorca.
