| Tarifa Tourist Information Tarifa is a small fishing town with a trend for windsurfing at the beach, and a back drop of countryside and mountains. The architecture is Moorish and Roman, this coupled with the narrow cobbled streets makes it a very picturesque, quaint place to holiday. The weekly market in Tarifa is on a Tuesday from around 10am-2pm, full of atmosphere and bursting with locals it is a great place to pick up souvenirs. There are no golf courses in the town of Tarifa however the Benalup Golf Club is very close by with 18 holes, it is a Par 73 course. Situated close to Tarifa is the Aqualand Bahia (also known as Aquasherry) there are 17 slides, cafes, and a shaded picnic area its a great family day out, there is even a private bus service that can pick up from your hotel if you book in advance. There are four beaches in and around Tarifa all of which have something different to offer, the Bolonia Beach is located in the town center with water sports, lifeguards, and many facilities, although the waters are not always very calm. The Chica Beach is another town beach in Tarifa, similar to the Bolonia Beach although there are no water sports. The Lances Beach and Valdevaqueros Beach are also in Tarifa town both have water sports, and Lances Beach also has restaurants, showers, toilets, and umbrellas and sunbeds for hire. From Cadiz Museums with its Phoenician and Roman Archaeology artifacts, or the Santa Clara Monastery where Christopher Columbus visited upon returning from his initial expedition, or the Arabic Baths in Jerez, or the Oratorio Ancient Ruins in Cadiz. There is an abundance for horse lovers including a Equestrian Art Museum, and a Museum or Horse and Carriages. The Natural Park Coto Donana in Santa Maria is the largest nature reserve in Spain. Tarifa has typical Mediterranean weather, there are approximately 300 days of sun annually, with an average of 11 hours of sun during the summer. The winters in Tarifa are extremely mild, with an average of 5hrs of sun per day. The max average temperature in August is 28ºC and in December is 14ºC. The best time to visit Tarifa is from June till September.
