Tenerife Museums
Tenerife has many Museums and Art centres, taking you through the history and heritage of the island and showing off the fine art. All are in and around Santa Cruz de Tenerife.
Natural and Human History Museum
This is one of the most important cultural projects in Santa Cruz. Before collections were being dispersed, to places like those of the former Archaeological Museum of Tenerife or the Natural History museum, Until recently. Now they are all being gathered and put here. This is a trip through life as a pre-Hispanic man, with the tools that he used and the natural world surrounding him. This Museum is extremely interesting and well worth a visit! Also known as the Museum of Man and Nature.

La Recova Arts Centre
Based in Santa Cruz de Tenerife La Recova is an extremely important arts centre. This is where the City school of Graphic arts has its head quarters based. Many fine Art exhibitions take place here also.
City Library and Fine Arts Museum
Also known as the Municipal Museum of Fine Arts, this houses an extensive collection of the best Canary Island Painters. It is well worth a visit The permanent collections include several masterpieces including; San José, by Ribera and a portrait of Isabel II, by Madrazo.
The Library which is now being extended, holds an important department of the Islands archives and Canarien's Literature! Its complement is found in the Provincial Historic Archives Library, which is also in Santa Cruz.

Tenerife Anthropology Museum
This spectacular museum is set in an eighteenth century house, it is dedicated to investigating, disseminating and conserving the popular and admired culture of the Canary Islands. Here they have lots of workshops throughout the year and they put the emphasis on teaching activities. It often holds a grand exhibition of food and culture.

Others include the Regional Military Museum, History Museum and Island Archives, Museum of Science and the Cosmos, Museum of Latin American Handicraft and the Santiago del Tiede Museum.
