Puerto de la Cruz, is an old fishing port and is one of Spain's major attractions. Although remarkably it remains unscathed. Here you will find bars and restaurant, shops and even a casino! With its traditional Canarian style homes and fisherman landing their catches it really is charming and quaint.
The resort lies in the North of the island at the mouth of Orotava Valley, and is dominated by the views of Mount Tiede. It is significantly cooler than in the South of the island.
Puerto de la Cruz Resort, just one hour and forty five minutes from the Sur Reina airport, takes you to a totally different side of Tenerife the original side! It lies on a rocky coast with three small beaches of black sand, including the beautiful Playa Jardin with its tropical backdrop! Lido Martianez is also here, this is a large artificial lake that has seven saltwater pools and is surrounded by attractive gardens!

The main promenade at Puerto de la Cruz, Avenida de Colon, leads off in a maze of side streets that are lined with shops that are absolutely bursting with local hand-crafted goods and souvenirs.
Puerto de la Cruz, is the oldest resort tourist resort in Tenerife, it is still a popular resort to stay in. Hotels and information can be found on the hotel page and a search box to see the availability and price.
There are plenty of attractions here, and to visit just outside. These are easier to visit by car if going out of the Centre, there are lots of buses that will take you there also.
If you don't stay here then Puerto de la Cruz is well is definitely worth a visit to see the 'real' Tenerife!! Again it is easy by bus and car!
