Tenerife along with the other Canary Islands is duty free, so you are looking to buy some tobacco, wines, spirits and perfumes, look no further they are much cheaper here than in other EU countries!
If whilst on holiday you are wanting to do some serious shopping, then across the island several shopping centre's have sprung up! There's; Corte Ingles department store in Santa Cruz, Carrefour off the TF-1 motorway and Continente next to the TF-5 motorway.
Down in the South apart from having all the usual electrical goods and souvenir shops, there are a lot of local craft shops such as, volcanic sculptures, embroidery and pottery. This is common in Los Cristianos and in the El Duque commercial centre. There is the;
Place of Pearls - this is a fantastic thousand square feet completely devoted to pearls and pearl jewellery!!

House of Wines - This beautifully restored museum and visitors where you can help yourself to a sample of the local wines and cuisine!
Address: Casa del Vino, El Sauzal, Exit 21, Autopista del Norte
Open Tuesday to Sunday, all year round, from 11am.
In La Laguna, the old town centre you will find the most interesting shops. Where as the best shopping is in Santa Cruz de Tenerife. Here you can buy National and International fashion in the boutiques of Rambla de Pulido, Calle del Castillo or between Calle Jesus Nazareno and Calle Sabino Berhelot. Other good shops here are; Bethencourt Alfonso and San Jose, Villalba Hervas, Plaza de Espana and Plaza de la Canelaria.
If you, like me like the markets for a good haggle and great bargain there are plenty across the island of Tenerife...Make sure you try to barter as it makes that bargain even more satisfying!!!
