Torre Vella Salou's Torre Vella was originally constructed to act as a watch tower & defensive fortification for the town; then under almost constant threat from pirates. Work on it was completed in the year 1530 under the authority of the arch-bishop of Tarragona. It is a well restored structure, with a beauty of it's own. The interior of the Torre Vella is devoted to the display of a municipal collection of art works, & to the town Enamels Museum.
