Barcelona History Museum
A good place to go to learn about Barcelona's history is in the City History Museum. Located in the Palau Comtal (Count's Palace) on the Plaza del Rei it houses an array of archeological artifacts from the Roman period right through to more modern objects. The museum also focuses on the cities political history & popular tradition.
A secondary branch of the museum is located in the Monastery of Pedrables; worth a visit if only to view the building itself. It houses a collection of artefacts & paintings from the monastery itself, once an important building in Barcelona.
